Find out what your gap statement is actually claiming
Most weak introductions do not lack a gap. They assert one without evidence: "little is known" with no count behind it, or "few studies" where the author never checked. This worksheet reads your abstract and tells you what your gap claim is doing, which of the five gap types it belongs to, and what a reviewer will ask next.
How to use the gap worksheet
It is not an AI that invents novelty. It reports what is observable in your own text: the gap phrases you used, the design and sample the abstract shows, the IMRaD elements it leaves out, and the titles on your reading list that share no term with your abstract, which usually means either a different conversation or inconsistent vocabulary.
Does this tool find a research gap for me?
No, and no tool can. Novelty is a judgement about a literature you have read, not a pattern in an abstract. What the worksheet does is check whether the gap you claim is stated in a form that can survive review, and show you which parts of the claim are still unsupported.
