Count your abstract against the limit before you submit
An abstract that runs 40 words over the limit is a desk rejection that has nothing to do with the quality of the study. Paste your abstract here and see the word count, the character count, and how it sits against the five limits journals ask for most often.
How to use the abstract counter
Structured abstracts have a second problem: the total fits but one section does not. The breakdown shows words per labelled section, and the checks flag passive constructions and the phrases reviewers mark as filler. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere.
Is my abstract uploaded anywhere?
No. The counting and the checks run in JavaScript on your device. There is no request to a server, so nothing leaves the browser tab. Words are split on whitespace and any token with a letter or digit counts once, which matches Word and most journal systems.
Lectimax requires JavaScript to run. Please enable JavaScript to use the full platform.
